Justin-san

Dear pupils,

here's Justin's reply to dear Cassandra...

another riddle...

There are two levels in the house. There are three switches on the first floor and three lights on the second floor. How do you find which switch belongs to which light by just going up to the second floor ONCE.

There is no time limit and not a trick riddle. And you cannot go out of the house to look upstairs.

He said, "Hope you can solve it in no time!!!! Good luck!!!!!"

Oooh, are the 2 red lines straight or bent??? Let's test your perpendicular and parallel lines skills :0

How? I don't know! I need time to think too, WAAAH!

More riddles

Hello boys and girls,
Hope all of you are studying hard for next week's Listening and Composition paper.
How's the oral exam?

Here's another riddle for you to solve when you take a break from studying;

1) Bottleneck
Put a coin in a bottle and then stop the opening with a cork. How can you get the coin out of the bottle without pulling out the cork or breaking the bottle?

2) Crossing the River
Jake was standing on one side of the river, and his dog Scruffy was standing on the other side. "Come on Scruffy, come, boy!" shouted Jake. Scruffy crossed the river, ran to Jake, and got a treat for being a good dog. The amazing thing was that Scruffy didn't even get wet! How did Scruffy do that?

Something harder (clue is outer space)
3) The Last Three
Each letter below stands for the name of something. What should the last three letters be?
M V E M J S ? ? ?

The answers quite simple as in all mind games :)

It works! Wonderful world of Maths!

Is it possible to calculate your age by how often you enjoy eating out?
Get ready for a mathematical mind-bender...
Here you go:-

1. First of all, pick the number of times a week that you would like to go out to eat (more than once but less than 10 times)

2. Multiply this number by 2 (just to be bold)

3. Add 5

4. Multiply it by 50

5. If you have already had your birthday this year add 1758 ... If you haven't, add 1757.

6. Now subtract the four digit year that you were born. You should now have a three digit number. The first digit of this was your original number, (i.e., how many times you want to go out to restaurants and the other 2 numbers would be your age!)

Journal homework for the weekend

Hi 4 Joy,

When I return the journals tomorrow, please write on two things.

1) Respect => In your Journal, after listening to assembly talks on Respect please write down your thoughts based on the points given -

  • What are the differences between hurtful actions and bullying? Can you tell?

  • What can you do if you see someone being bullied?

  • What can you do if you are being bullied?

  • What can everyone in the school do to respect friends, personal and other belongings, animals and environment?

Please continue to share your thoughts on this topic after last Wednesday's Life skills worksheet on bullying.

2) Next write on your thoughts on the P4 camp. Whether you attended or not, please share with me. :)

Poems...

Since we are on my FAVOURITE topic of poems, let me share this poem to all the BLUE house children. I wrote this in an email to all blue house teachers for the battle this Friday. Enjoy!

ALright, the day draws near

for us all to fear

but not to worry

for we are ready...

the question lies now

for the decorations to wow

for the afternoon teachers

to equip the great blue house cheers!!!

I've done this poem

to inspire us all

for the coming of S-day

for the blues to pave the way...

down or up we go

as long as there's no woe.

Blue house will be Blue house

no matter where it goes!!!

So here's the list of teacher's race participants

don't be surprised as it's only a short distance

for you to run 25m each

while wearing the space boots, that's gonna itch!

What do you think about it? Do comment...
