Sci Energy WB

Hi all,
I would like those who read this announcement to spread this info through phone calls. I would like you to bring the above Sci WB (Purple coloured) tomorrow as I need to check some marks that I've written in the WB. Thank you.

Reminder: If you are playing computer games as the exams are over, please be reminded again that times are bad with the recession and the increase in electrical bills. Love your parents by not asking them to pay such a high power bill just because you want to play. There are many other kinds of games / play that do not require electricity. I'll teach some to you in the following days.

Germination...

Hello children,

Remember Jonathan Lim's question when we were discussing on the question whereby a seed was placed in a zip lock bag and it still germinates? Below is an excerpt from Wiki explaining how air (oxygen that is) is used before the seed leaves appear. It means oxygen is still needed when the seed is not making food. It's needed for the energy making process called "respiration" (digested food + oxygen = energy).
When the condition is right (there's air, water and warmth), the seed will "wake" and start the process of germinating. Wonderful isn't it :)

Oxygen - is required by the germinating seed for metabolism:[2] If the soil is waterlogged or the seed is buried within the soil, it might be cut off from the necessary oxygen it needs. Oxygen is used in aerobic respiration, the main source of the seedling's energy until it has leaves, which can photosynthesize its energy requirements.[1] Some seeds have impermeable seed coats that prevent oxygen from entering the seeds, causing seed dormancy. Impermeable seed coats to oxygen or water, are types of physical dormancy which is broken when the seed coat is worn away enough to allow gas exchange or water uptake between the seed and its environment.
